There is solid metaphor in this play. Ashley Chu (“True” is what I sometimes heard – don’t know if this was intentional. something I picked up on) just wants you to lift the toilet seat up…and we see in her romantic relationship she ironically “lifts up” her man-baby partner. Overall production design is solid. I loved the King’s costume, it stood out. The way the patriarchy is represented is solid.
What I didn't like
The only thing is the entrance from the outside that leaks in light when an actor enters the space. This is a limitation of the space, not the production.
My overall impression
This is one of my favorite shows of the festival that I’ve seen so far. A buddy of mine was telling me about this play at The Plunge. I bought a ticket right then. I would see this piece again.
