Ashley has spent her life being the one who does:
the daughter, the overachiever, the partner who holds everything together.
She asks for one small thing in return:
put the toilet seat down.
The Liftist is an Asian American dark comedy that follows one woman across forty years—through family, love, ambition, and the quiet exhaustion of always being the one who carries more.
From a cramped immigrant household to a Manhattan apartment, to a near-future hospital room where even the machines seem to understand her better than people do, Ashley begins to ask:
What happens when you stop doing the things no one asked you to do?
