What I liked
I thought the story was really well told. I feel like I got a good picture of who each character was through the physicality and vocal work Ryan put in. I loved the simplicity of the set – I think anything more would have been distracting.
What I didn't like
It seemed like some of the lighting cues were a little off. It still looked really good but the timing of that could be improved.
My overall impression
Solo theatre done right! Ryan’s performance was a masterclass in embodying multiple characters. He shifted seamlessly between each one so that the story flowed naturally and I was hooked the whole time. This story is one that a lot of people will be able to relate to and Ryan delivers it with such sincerity that I couldn’t help but be invested. The piece was crafted so each emotional and tonal shift was earned and fit into the tapestry of the story. This is one not to miss!
