Danilo Napoli is a fantastic performer! He graces the stage with a passionate, frenetic energy, his dire look into one of humanity’s futures laced with humor and peppered with his charm and a vibrant set design. Fast-moving Fringe can make a strong, evocative set challenging, but the team does wonderful work setting the scene and telling the story with Napoli’s environment. Napoli himself is a delight to watch, even when he’s imploring us to leave and showcasing the worst case scenario for humanity. In telling us about what becomes of life and love in a world churned up by capitalism, he gently coaxes us into thinking about how we can prevent this type of future instead of sliding further into idiocracy.
What I didn't like
I would have loved to see more audience interaction! Napoli’s conceit is that the audience is present in the narrative, but I felt that unique aspect was underutilized.
My overall impression
An energetic, surprisingly joyful, poignant glimpse into the near future…
