What a delight! THE GREAT MARZINI transports you immediately to the 1800s in a very creative way. I didn't know what to expect but this blew my mind! Absolutely brilliant, entertaining, and funny. Marzini is masterful at involving the audience, keeping pace, and never letting the show get boring. The segments were so varied and unique, and there is a well thought out arc to the show. It's easy to study the mechanics of what makes a good story and play - structure, escalation and subversion - but to deliver it is an entirely different matter. This show did it. Bravo to Marisa for throwing something totally unexpected and original for an hour straight. It was comedic, character-defining genius, and I hope she does it again....

The Great Marzini is a lovable old timey magician who has several tricks up their sleeves. It's a one-person show, yet it felt very full - from the leg tricks to the puppet show and singing, it was a true magick trick! I am east Asian also so I especially found the problematic "oriental" character so so SO funny. Hat's off to Marisa!...

So much warmth and silliness packed into a magic show in which the greatest trick was how much The Great Marzini could win the crowd over with illusions that sometimes went haywire, audience interactions that always connected us deeper, and earned vulnerability underlying the whole performance. As much as I loved Marzini's antics, I was entranced any time Marisa dropped the character to talk to us as herself directly, and it was a fun and practical character detail to just cover the mustache for those momentary blips into real life/sincerity. ...

Wow! What an amazing show! Real magic? And I don't just mean the tricks. Marissa is magic and she shows us little sides of herself that left us wanting more. Marissa uses many different dazzling effects and tricks that left us on the edge of our seat. Incredible use of puppetry, lighting and sleight of hand! ...
