What I liked
Mike Hadge is such a master at writing a catchy musical theatre melody with lyrics that are both off beat and on point! The cast was amazing across the board, but I was especially fond of Tessa Slovis’ underrated Kyle and Katierose Donohue Enriquez’s vivacious Phantom! Fantastic specificity with sets, props, and costumes.
What I didn't like
I realize this is a limitation of the venue, but I would LOVE to have the music & vocals blasting in my ears, only because I know this cast can belt it out! It’d be exciting to see this show in a bigger venue with mics next time around. Still, I could hear everything perfectly, which is a blessing in a Fringe musical.
My overall impression
A hilarious premise executed to perfection by a dynamic cast and amazing creative team! The jokes come at you a mile a minute and the heartfelt moments are surprisingly sweet. I think if every dude-bro podcaster would see this show and listen to his inner musical theatre kid, Mike Hadge could save the world!
