Snappy/smart lyrics, standout performances by the bros, dramatic lighting, and great use of tech! I absolutely despise the manosphere podcasts they’re taking down, but as someone who was raised under the assumption I was a man (whoops) this show treats the buffoonish characters with much more humanity and grace than the (hilarious!) promotional materials might indicate. I’m no stranger to the world of mocking the manosphere, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were some brilliant revelations that strike at the core of these issues. (I don’t want to share it here, because the one I’m thinking of is a spoiler/the theme of the whole piece, in my opinion.) The show both scratched the itch of knowing that I’m not alone in my contempt for misogynistic grifters, but also reminds us that even the worst among us are human at heart, and have the capacity to change if they will it. (Thank you, power of musical theater!)
What I didn't like
Some of the jokes were a bit on the nose, but then again I didn’t come here for subtlety. I also had trouble hearing the bros sometimes when they weren’t at their mics, though this improved as the show went on.
