Junru is incredibly charismatic and draws the audience in taking on multiple personas. She doesn’t just tell you how grueling her training was and how beautiful her craft, technique, and art are, but shows you with acrobatic feats.
The direction from Cam Monet was beautifully theatrical, balancing intimacy, pain, and joy. The light changes were few, but spoke volumes. It’s a really unique and powerful story shown in a unique and powerful way.
What I didn't like
Anyone who uses this space to type something should be expelled from ever watching theatre.
My overall impression
Beautiful. A harrowing experience is presented with wisdom, insightfullness, passion, and delight. It’s about someone discovering themselves and who they are and that they can be so much more than they thought they were. It’s about self-expression and art. I was bowled over.
