I really admired the storytelling overall and how events among the four characters spiraled out of control within their individual pursuits of romantic happiness. Each character choice had an unintended consequence and complication, and their criss-crossed backstories fueled the action beautifully. The play was deftly plotted for maximum complications and comedic impact, and the conclusion was very satisfying. The characters were grounded, the actors were wonderful, the pacing was crisp, the direction was sterling.

My overall impression
In Coffee Date, Jonah Weiland has crafted a brilliant, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. Hilarious with lots of heart and occasional naughtiness. The four characters are wonderfully designed, and the story is full of fun surprises, reveals and twists. The acting and directing are fantastic. Bravo!
