I liked the ambition of writing complicated characters, dislikable protagonists, and wrapping it all in the modern setting of a podcast studio with an ambitious and ruthless host. It’s a timely idea and a great script.
What I didn't like
I wonder if the weight of the topics would have landed better with an older cast. I felt sometimes that the youthful and fun energy was causing some of the heavy hitting lines and topics to be less impactful than they would have been with a more mature cast that would be more comfortable holding some stillness- allowing these big points to land squarely with the audience. You can still have funny moments, but the heavy moments could have used a breath.
My overall impression
A unique and modern setting grappling with big ideas.
