I especially enjoyed the ambiguity in certain anecdotes, and the way the characters lingered in discomfort. It made the moments like the assault so much more poignant. It also helped us see their progression, especially with our leads.
What I didn't like
The only moment where my journey faltered for a moment was the climax where Charlie posits the question,“did she deserve to be raped because she is a terrible person?” The acting was great. The writing itself though felt more like an aside than a dialogue or confrontation — I missed the way the cast interacted in other significant moments to get a message (or multiple across). This was very brief though, and the scene recovered for me shortly after when Bobby and Marcus reacted.
My overall impression
Thoroughly enjoyed the production — especially the way in which the characters all simultaneously invoked humor, cruelty, selfishness and vulnerability. The cast was incredible. The way their reactions escalated from each other felt true to their characters and the moments.
