I enjoyed the rawness and humanity of the show. There are very few shows that discuss the conversation of death, mental health, and suicide in a unique and tasteful manner, “Please Don’t Freak Out” does just that.
Sydney Rene Cox’s acting is the selling point of the show. Her portrayal of Claire will relate to many in the audience in their experiences with death, mental health, and suicide.
The stage set up, lighting, and music are all tastefully done as well.
What I didn't like
I am eager to see “Please Don’t Freak Out” again later in the show’s run to see how the production evolves and how Sydney Rene Cox and her team continue to bring this beautiful story to life even further.
My overall impression
“Please Don’t Freak Out” was a beautiful one-person show by Sydney Rene Cox that is a unique dialogue around death, mental health, and suicide. The script was raw and ultimately… human.
Sydney Rene Cox engaged the audience throughout the show with her captivating acting and dialogue. “Please Don’t Freak Out” is a must see at Hollywood Fringe 2026!
