A powerful, moving solo show that expertly combined heaviness and levity. The script forced us to sit in tension as we slowly got to know and feel for the protagonist, which ultimately made the twist at the end hit like a knife to the chest. ... full review

This performance among many other powerful evocations, was deeply charming & brilliant. The moment Sydney stepped on stage, everything else melted away, leaving only her raw, abiding storytelling & vulnerability. Please Don’t Freak Out is fresh, funny, tragic, warm, and an absolute must-see. ... full review

Sydney has a unique ability to bring tears to your eyes, then make you laugh before they fall, and she does this over and over in this unique play set in a mortician's office. She navigates mental health, life, death and everything in between with a keen familiarity, and always makes the audience feel "in" on the joke that is life and all that comes with it. Bravo Sydney!... full review

What an incredible story. PDFO is a banner for how great art can take a hyper specific and nuanced POV (thr journey of a 28 year old female mortician) - and weave it into a much larger, universal, highly relatable conversation around death and everyones experience with it. Everyone you know experiences death, but nobody you know is a 28 year old female mortician. Really really cool. Straightforward, somehow ice cold and warm all at once. Sydney delivers a sharp, bite sized performance that gives a hint of resolution, but leaves enough on the table for you to be forced to draw some of your own damn conclusions on life, death, and the time youve still got. Jeeze. You can lead a camel to water...... full review

Such a wonderful show with a really great balancing of dark humor and heavy drama! The way this explores how death (and being around it frequently) brings out the most honest, raw, thoughtful observations of ourselves and others around us was really moving.... full review

I came into this show with zero expectations and I left feeling truly moved. Sydney (Claire) did an incredible job of taking the audience on a journey that was dark and funny. Death is something that unites us all and I think this story did a really good job of reminding me how humbling that can be. At the end of the day though we’re all human. ... full review
