What I liked
I liked the performances a lot. I also very much enjoyed CJ’s music, I think his music could be used throughout the piece to punctuate and highlight his transformation.
What I didn't like
The show is listed as 80 minutes, but after 105 minutes, I had to leave to catch the next show.
My overall impression
Excellent performances and good concept. I (humbly) feel that this show could benefit from some major edits, and finding a way to get the audience on CJ’s side earlier. His character is not redeemable for much of the play, though the people around him love him in spite of his self-centered nature. I needed a Save the Cat moment to fall in love with CJ somewhere in the first third. I want an arc, but I also need to love him or a piece of him. I was happy with the resolution of the piece. And again, the performances were great!
