The writing and direction were thoughtful and confident. The story was the star, but the performance of JC Best was an anchor that made the play shine.
What I didn't like
This show deserves a full production with a larger budget.
My overall impression
When theatre finds a way to surprise you, you’ve witnessed something special. “White Lillies” did that and more. Bolstered by a raw and honest performance by JC Best, this play has been one of the highlights of the Fringe this year for me. In fact, this piece makes a strong case to the city of Los Angeles that audiences should invest more into local, independent theatre. Bravo to Rush Z and everyone involved for creating a thoughtful, magical piece of theatre.
