My overall impression
Having seen the original incarnation of We Are The 0% last year, I was curious to see what the Clownma gang cooked up for their Fringe revival. We Are The 0% tells the story of a rag-tag gang of hippy clowns fighting against the injustices of the 1%, which includes a rich “Fat Cat” banker clown, his young Kardashian-esque clown wife, and a duo of macho clown cops. This new production of The 0% is splashy, colorful, and stylish, taking the idea of sprightly circus clowns into the 21st century. Standout performances include a shocking stunt with a balloon by Krystal Pires-Patch and a topical game of charades featuring the central trio of bums: Dusty, Q, and Sky. This hour-long performance might feel light on storyline with a muddled ending, but it sure makes for a laugh-out-loud night of theatre.
