I thought the entire play was excellent. The writing was thoughtful and nuanced. I thought the subject matter was not too heavy. The main character's layers are revealed as the play goes on. I thought the movement was well placed. The entire creative team did an incredible job bringing this play to life....

The cast, crew, and creative team nailed this out of the park; Joshua’s unsettling and confrontational writing is elevated by meticulous choices in costume, physicality, and scenic design all to tell a unique perspective on the current loneliness epidemic. The cast walked a tightrope between exaggerated comedy and deep introspection that created a beautiful, engaging piece that gives you something to chew on long after you’re out the door....

Dark and hilarious
Wickedly hilarious! The rhythm and the movements of each cast member keep the audience captivated, and together they vividly articulate the internal conflicts and complexity in the human’s mind and soul. The narrative impacts us so deeply that we have to ask ourselves what the true meaning of life is, opening our eyes to see the differences between survival and living, and how is our existence means to the world and ourselves. I especially love how the ending leaves the audience interpret the destiny of Michael, the protagonist, differently. The story could explore more about the relationships Michael has with his work place, family, and best friend, therefore I hope we could get to see those part after Fringe festival....

The mix of dark humor and absurdity worked very well and didn't take away from the overall emotion of the main character's journey. Great direction from Donny Dahlman. His blocking and experimental movement gives an interesting twist to this already out-there idea. Joshua Whitehorn's script is a reflection of the modern we live in. This play feels relatable to many different types of people, but you can tell it also very personal to Joshua....

By far one of the most thought provoking shows I have seen in a very long time. The Art of Reassurance tackles a heavy, dramatic narrative but elevates it by leaning into bold, experimental elements. Under the sharp, insightful direction of Donny Dahlman, these ambitious choices feel incredibly cohesive. Dahlman masterfully balances the play's weightier moments, ensuring that the well-timed sprinkles of comedy land perfectly, giving the audience room to breathe without breaking the dramatic tension.
Guided by Dahlman's strong directorial vision and fueled by Whitehorn's multi-talented contributions, this is a gripping, memorable night of theater that stays with you long after the final curtain call....

Since the show is only an hour, there's only so much that could be done within that timeframe. Even with some hiccups throughout that caught me off guard, it doesn't change the fact that I was emotionally invested all throughout. It has its funny moments as well as some hard-hitting moments that really left me thinking, even days after the fact. The characters are flawed but very endearing, which definitely could be a hard balancing act, especially with the lead character. It all comes out to be a very deep, thought-provoking, relatable experience that although the themes and subject matter aren't for everyone, the people that get it can understand what it all boils down to at the end of the story. I just find this show to be enjoyable and I...

It’s an hour long and the first half was a bit light and frantic while the second half was darker and put the story together. At first I didn’t think there was a story to be told as it felt very experimental. Not sure why it opened the way it did, there were some chuckles in the beginning but the mood switched quickly. ...
