I really enjoyed the performances given by the actors, it felt like everyone was able to really channel their characters because they were portray them really well, love the casting choices that were made. The dialogue felt natural to the story in a way where it matched the mood the story was all throughout, it was funny where it needed to be funny, serious where it needed to be serious, the shedding of light-hearted remarks was a good touch in the second half to keep this story from feeling like both halfs came from different plays.
What I didn't like
there are a few points where the transitions to the next scene are a little too sudden for it to be naturally progressive in the story, especially with the mood switch-up from the comedic first half to the harsh and real darker tone in the second half. There are also some moments where it does get stagnant and leaves open space that probably shouldn’t be there, having something to at least fill it up, something like music or a distinct ambience to really pull the viewer in, the space can help with that immersion.
My overall impression
Since the show is only an hour, there’s only so much that could be done within that timeframe. Even with some hiccups throughout that caught me off guard, it doesn’t change the fact that I was emotionally invested all throughout. It has its funny moments as well as some hard-hitting moments that really left me thinking, even days after the fact. The characters are flawed but very endearing, which definitely could be a hard balancing act, especially with the lead character. It all comes out to be a very deep, thought-provoking, relatable experience that although the themes and subject matter aren’t for everyone, the people that get it can understand what it all boils down to at the end of the story. I just find this show to be enjoyable and I consider it one of my favorite productions as of now.
