When I wasn’t smiling from ear to ear and laughing, I genuinely bawled my eyes out at the last stretch of the show and the conclusion, the address to her child really framed the show in such an amazing way. I could listen to Verónica expound on the nature of being a mother and once being a baby all day. She crafted this show so thoughtfully.
What I didn't like
I would have loved it to be like three hours long just Verónica telling her whole life and postpartum story because it was captivating, and I didn’t want it to end!
My overall impression
Putting into words, visuals, and jokes what happens to you when you are in the thick of postpartum is a Herculean task; it’s one that Osario masterfully tackles even within the first minutes of her “reveal” in BEBÉ BEBÉ, and it’s off to the races for a raucous, absurdist, provocative, sometimes frightful, thoughtfully hilarious detailing of her experiences with love, pregnancy, birth, and her current journey of postpartum. Osario’s performance is so honest, vulnerable, and warm, even when she’s shouting expletives straight at the crowd (and rightly so! Haha). It’s a truly cathartic and wonderful show!
