What I liked

I loved the technology of the silhouette. It was beautifully done and mesmerizing to watch.

What I didn't like

I wanted more character development. More story line around their relationship, a broader view of how it grew and ultimately fell. It felt a bit choppy at times. Rushed from a budding relationship to a harsh ending without enough development of why I should be as invested and devastated as the characters were through their relationship.

My overall impression

Neo: an beautifully deep and thoughtful exploration of the soul, creatively intertwined with our earthly experiences through a unique, supernatural lens. By connecting the ethereal nature of the soul to the gritty reality of life’s experiences, the narrative takes the audience on a journey. Admittedly, the storyline can be challenging to follow at times, demanding the viewer’s full and active attention. However, this complexity is ultimately a strength; it invites a profound introspection that a simpler narrative simply could not achieve. The production illustrates how our trials and challenges possess the power to either dim our inner vibrance or fundamentally shape who we are. It challenges the audience to consider how we choose to remain present and authentic, even when navigating our darkest struggles.

The heavy introspection is perfectly balanced with moments of genuine charm and disarming humor. These lighter moments provide the audience with a necessary chance to breathe, making the deeper, thought-provoking scenes hit with even greater emotional resonance. A must see!
