I loved the balance of seriousness with humor. I was laughing all throughout the show, while also deeply feeling what the characters were feeling. The dual monologue audition scene between the woman and the man was absolutely mesmerizing and hit me right in the heart. Fabulously written and eloquently performed!
Laura Hurst gave an incredible performance of raw emotion and heart that was perfectly balanced with her scene partner.
What I didn't like
While the visual of the silhouette was very well done, I almost wanted to see “the man” character descend even further out of himself before we got there. I felt like I needed to see an emotional bridge from the breakup to the next part where he loses his job and the silhouette comes more into play.
My overall impression
Heartfelt, timely, and perfectly balanced between soul-wrenching truth and comedic beats. Each cast member was fully invested in their role and gave it their all.
