I liked how distinct each character was from one another. I liked the lighting design and the use of space given the simplistic set. I loved the writing and the themes.
What I didn't like
I believe this show has room to continue to take different shapes in terms of length and order of some scenes so I’m curious to see how it develops further.
My overall impression
Becoming Apparent was such a moving and vulnerable show that will stay with me for a long time. I loved Olga’s approach to the format of a solo show, weaving in and out between narration and scenes in such a seamless way. I believe she struck a beautiful balance between highlighting deep, traumatic events with a universal humor by poking at topics like motherhood and religion that are often taboo to criticize. Wonderful direction by Elina de Santos.
