The performances were wonderful, with really stirring performances from Jeff Scot Carey and Lucas Alifano; and a powerfully simple and nuanced performance from Emily Clark. Plus strong and authentic emotionally vulnerable performances from the vocal performers who provided the off stage characters on the call-line.
The show had active and exciting dialogue and an unmatched element of rising action from the writers Pam Eberhardt and Dan Testa. The direction was fluid, completely solid, but never called attention to itself; which is a true rarity in a director, let alone one who was making their directorial debut (hard to believe it was Eberhardt’s first foray on that side of the stage).
What I didn't like
It all worked.
My overall impression
One the Line is a tight, well put together, incredibly tense thriller. Disturbing and scary. Funny and charming. Somehow all at once. The show achieved an unsettling feel, that only grew and made me continuously wonder when the sh*t was going to hit the fan.
