The commitment to the character, the structure of the show (“don’t make me do this… okay but what if I did?”), the innovative ways to engage the audience (I say the back injury was worth it), and the infectious joy. Kallie’s direction was wonderful, too. The structure and stage movement of the show was so clear and well thought out; it helped to ground this larger than life, but still very real, character. My favorite moment was the improvised scene Frank does with an audience member. It takes a very skilled improviser to literally do everything wrong in an improv scene. I was dying.
What I didn't like
Nothing. Sorry! More shows.
My overall impression
I literally have not stopped thinking about this show since I saw it. It was absolutely hysterical and so smart. There was truly never a dull moment. Max’s command of space and connectedness with the audience is expert level!! He is a clown in every sense of the word. Have recommended this to so many people and wish I could see it again!
