Tom was impossible to take your eyes off of. His ability to not only sit in silence and still completely hold the audience’s attention, but also to turn on a dime in his emotional journey was powerful. Zach navigated the different emotional levels of his character with such a precision, and his performance really helped move the story forward and let the big emotional moments of the other two characters really pay off. Emma’s performance was so graceful and brilliantly portrayed. Holding the heart of the audience in her hands throughout the entire time on stage, she made me reflect on my own life and losses I’ve suffered and the weight of carrying that. And the final scene? Truly soul crushing. She killed me with her final breath before laying her head on Zach’s shoulder.
What I didn't like
From the opening to the end there was a steady continuity to the story and character archs that kept me fully engaged throughout.
My overall impression
Tuesday night I had the privilege of seeing a beautiful play about grief and loss, and it left a lasting impression. Rather than simply telling a story, it explored the deeply human experience of carrying pain, navigating heartbreak, and finding connection through shared vulnerability. It reminded me that grief isn’t something we overcome as much as something we learn to live alongside, and that healing often comes through compassion, memory, and hope.
The performances were authentic, emotional, and incredibly moving. Every moment felt honest, making it impossible not to reflect on the people we’ve loved and the experiences that have shaped us. Congratulations to everyone involved—you created something meaningful that will stay with your audience long after the lights came up.
