CARA RICHARDSON uncertified reviewer June 18, 2026
6/10 was a captivating performance that takes you on a journey of love, finding oneself, family dynamics, self discovery and ultimately happiness. I was left feeling impressed by McKinnon’s ability to take you through so many personal and pivotal moments in his life while commanding attention, laughter, sadness and at times disappointment and anger from the audience. I have seen this performance twice now and am looking forward to seeing it again.... full review

It was a great awakening story for the character and the audience. We can only see the world through our eyes and often believe our issues are unique to us. ... full review

So transparent and vulnerable with a mix of comedy. He put it all out there and didn't hold back. The character work was distinct and clear. He also mixed in the society incidents too which had an impact on his journey. ... full review

McKinnon Powell walks on stage looking like Hollywood Jesus had a midlife crisis, and honestly? That’s the perfect setup for what follows. “6 Out of 10” is the story of chasing “perfect” in a town built on rejection — and Powell hands you the receipts, scars and all. What got me wasn’t the jokes (though there are plenty, and they land) — it was how unguarded Powell is up there. That vulnerability makes the funny stuff funnier and the gut-punches hit harder. By the end, it didn’t feel like watching a show. It felt like being let in on something real... full review

The show was a raw, honest look at a challenging year in McKinnon's life, and setting it against the 2016 news cycle was a smart choice — both were chaotic in their own way. What stayed with me most was how genuinely vulnerable it felt; nothing about it seemed forced or put on. Visually it was really well done too, polished in a way that actually added to the emotional experience rather than distracting from it.... full review
