The character work is impressive and the writing is genuinely funny. The video elements are slickly integrated, giving the show a polished, produced feel. Vickie is personable and magnetic, and director Barri Tsavaris has shaped a tight, purposeful arc out of what could have been a string of wild anecdotes. A well-crafted, well-performed piece.
What I didn't like
Nothing significant to note. A thoroughly enjoyable show from start to finish.
My overall impression
Kimchi Life Crisis is a sharp, hilarious, and surprisingly moving solo show. Vickie’s storytelling is vivid and electric, taking you on her wild expat adventure in South Korea with charm and real heart. 5 out of 5 kimchis!
