What I liked
Dean’s physical work is mesmerizing. Their physical one-liners were so delightfully specific. The writing was so weird and also so sharp that I always felt oriented in the strangeness. I’m not even sure what all they did, but it is clear to me that they made a lot of specific choices not just in the content of the show but the construction of the show to make it a mysterious experience the audience felt safe to swim around in.

My overall impression
This show has been a highlight of the festival for me! I felt fully immersed in Dean’s absurd and magical world without any elaborate set pieces or any of us needing to leave our seats. It was equally funny and wondrous. To use a cliche, it really was a masterclass in clown craft. I’ll be thinking about it for awhile!
