The relationships, the similarities between the ‘70s, the 40’s and now, the moment to moment acting work, the staging, the casting, and the message.
What I didn't like
It was a problem with the venue, which for much of the show was lovely. However, when the action was in one acting area and the visuals were in another I felt I missed some translations because I didn’t think to look. This was a tiny tiny tiny issue.
My overall impression
It’s an important, deeply felt, complexly written, historically revealing, scarily contemporary, beautifully acted and staged piece of theatre. Why do we live with such fear of each other? What is the matter with us that we are still grappling with racism? It was moving and left us with an important message for today. Be loud! Fight back! I just loved the show.
