What I liked

I believe any of us can relate to the characters in some ways. Each character reflects a part of ourselves and I was deeply moved. This show really made me want to learn more about the incarceration and be involved in passing it on.

What I didn't like

Some of the English subtitles of the spoken Japanese dialog was very long; it was a little bit difficult to follow along and watch the actor at the same time.

Since the seats are all at the same level, I could not see props being used on the floor (or whether there were props or not?)

My overall impression

Each character was developed exceptionally well, and as the story moved through both heartbreaking and uplifting moments, I felt as though I was experiencing everything alongside them. Although the story takes place over fifty years ago, its themes are still deeply relatable to those of us living today. Of course, we can only imagine the struggle they went through back then. But it made me realize that, regardless of the era, every generation carries its own pain and trauma, even if they differ in scale.
