Really emotionally resonant, spectacularly acted, and well-written, touching on themes that unfortunately continue to be more and more relevant today. All the actors were incredible but want to especially shout out the two leads - the mother and daughter, the latter who had dual roles and really landed them.... full review

Very well written play about the complexities of racial tension during ww2 and Japanese internment. Loved the use of space, the characters, & the acting! Special shoutout to the talented actress that played 2 roles in both future and past. Also, loved the inclusion of the Black American experience along side the Japanese American stories. Shoutout to the actress that played Georgia too, she was great! Definitely an intense watch at times, but an important story. Well done!... full review

The show was well written and acted. A very moving, touching drama, extremely relevant to today. The venue was charming with its 2 stage concept. I would love to see it expanded into a larger venue and learn more about the characters journey. ... full review

This show was so important and amazing. The acting was phenomenal and the way the story was able to jump between time periods so easily was impressive. I found myself wanting to research more into the subject all while being engrossed in the lives of the characters. Overall, I would highly recommend this play to everyone. ... full review

Beautiful show. Very important discussion of how trauma gets passed on in family, and how throwing up your hands at a bad situation can actually lead to a lot of repressed anger and sadness.... full review

This was a poignant celebration of family, history and the grief that is born from preserving memory. As a community, we cannot forget the devastating impact of Japanese internment and how this experience has situated itself into the American psyche – past and present.... full review

This was a beautiful work of art, the players drew the audience in with their performances and they told quite a moving story. At a time where Japanese culture has exploded in popularity worldwide, what a sobering perspective to lend on what our dear friends have endured to arrive where they are in society today. Hiro Matsunaga was excellent!!... full review

An incredible piece of writing with a cast that delivers a thoughtful and nuanced performance. I wept during a monologue and got choked up seeing characters navigate injustice and personal relationships with layers of complexity.... full review

Each character was developed exceptionally well, and as the story moved through both heartbreaking and uplifting moments, I felt as though I was experiencing everything alongside them. Although the story takes place over fifty years ago, its themes are still deeply relatable to those of us living today. Of course, we can only imagine the struggle they went through back then. But it made me realize that, regardless of the era, every generation carries its own pain and trauma, even if they differ in scale.... full review
