Going to try to give this review without spoiling anything because I was very glad afterwards that I didn’t know anything about the show going into it.
I loved how metatheatrical this show was. For the first couple scenes, you think you know what the show is and it’s still funny and enjoyable, but when the show takes a turn it really takes a turn (and became increasingly enjoyable as it went on). The self-awareness became more and more clear as craziness ensued on stage and landed with an ending that I thought was both fitting/effective and ridiculous. Loved it.
The rotating cast from show to show is also always a fun element to throw in and tempts the audience to come back again to see the variations.
What I didn't like
To be honest, very little. Some of the “critiques” I thought about toward the beginning of the show (if they could even be considered critiques) were later washed away with the introduction of the pivot in the plot and theatrical devices.
My overall impression
Surprising, funny, and the type of show that makes you think, “How did the actors keep all of that straight in their heads??” Breaks your brain in the best way.
