About the Project
It’s the most fun you can have with an existential crisis!
Max, an aspiring playwright and self-indulgent pseudo-intellectualist, is working on their magnum opus: an unnecessarily meta piece of theatre examining the nature of reality. Sam, a normal and well adjusted human, is doing their best to rein Max in. As Max drags Sam—kicking and screaming—through layer after layer of misinformed philosophy and misinterpreted literary technique, the pair begin to deconstruct reality until their entire understanding of the world is shattered. But don’t worry, they have a great time doing it.
One of them does, anyway.
A Revenge on Reality is the 2nd Hollywood Fringe Production from An Important Business Office; last year’s production, A Needless & Wasteful Requirement, was nominated for the Theatre Theater Playwright Award, and the Theater Planners “Planner’s Pick” Award.
