I believed they were both authentically in that era. Both likable, captivating entertainers, great voices, great production value with the costumes etc. you could just feel the heart that went into it. Always happy to support artists who give their heart and soul to their work. I’m fascinated that Doris Day was the original choice to play Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate. Never knew that. You can feel the lead actress’s passion for Doris Day. And Chris Showerman always transforms into his roles. I didn’t realize how much of a song and dance guy he was but he fits so perfectly into that world.
What I didn't like
I hope audiences find it because it’s a feel good, 85 mins of music, fun and compelling stories.
My overall impression
A more traditional show. Left feeling great and humming the tunes. I really enjoyed the music and boy, did they pack a lot of it in there but mixing in anecdotes was a great way to tell their story.
