It was clear the writer really knew the inner workings of an improv team, and seeing that dynamic start to crumble was really terrifying but also weirdly exciting to watch (especially as a fellow comedian). The pacing and tension were fantastic.
I thought the way they showcased the improv scenes was extremely clever: they allowed the audience to catch a glimpse of the actual improv comedy the fictional team in the show is based around, without ever losing focus from the larger story.
What I didn't like
I’m not sure if there was an additional content warning that I missed about that scene, but it did catch me a little bit off guard (though it was incredibly well-performed and extremely realistic).
My overall impression
Equally talented ensemble cast carrying a snappy script with ease. One of the most dastardly and real villains I’ve seen, played to slow burn perfection by the actor (no spoilers!). I really related to both Maya and Cy, though I have also absolutely been an Andrew and a Bernie and an Ash. That’s the part that really stuck with me: every character really embodied the various archetypes of the improv comedy world, and larger comedy world in general.
