I was happy with most everything! I liked the king & queen especially—deeply funny, their vibe, and “Why am I the only one who isn’t out?” had me dying. Strong acting, strong sense of vibe in the show.
What I didn't like
If I have anything to say, it’s that I am still a tiny bit tired of the “gay person dies” trope—not that this show does it fine and it doesn’t work in the course of the plot, but that is a barrier that I encountered. Any time I stop at THINK about something that is happening rather than experiecing the show, I wonder whether a choice could be different, ya feel? The last 10 minutes in general do work fine, but I wonder if the kind of…somber tone end fits with the rest of the show. Alas, i respect the choice. better than anything I have written :)
My overall impression
I thought this show was damn near the perfect mix of comedy, queer yearning, & deserved earnesty (something I often think is not deserved during Fringe). Costuming was a lot of fun, characters real and fun. Would recommend :)
