The dialogue, and connection between both actors brought this story to life in a riveting and authentic manner. Their stakes were life and death, not sure which way is right or wrong and which way you want them to end up, however it seemed to capture the confusion that comes from love and love outside of the conventions you were raised in.
What I didn't like
I found certain elements of the story could be shortened, that maybe overly shared information that could have been more concise. But I also found that the dialogue was heightened due to the living environment of the religious cult they found themselves in.
My overall impression
The Cicada Cast brings the light and dark out of each character, living in a grey uncertainty of right and wrong that makes the audience simultaneously cringe and root for them to find their way back to each other.
