Lacy Allen delivers a very present and immersive performance with precise character traits that leave you reflective and hopeful. The staging and concept gives the audience a clear role, without ever making you feel too on the spot. The highs and lows of the story feel earned and real.
What I didn't like
I wish it was longer so we could unpack even more issues and hit even higher highs and lower lows. This is a world I want to spend more time in.
My overall impression
Watching Cindy is Right Now is like getting in a bubble bath at the end of a long, hard day. Everything about this show is sweet and heartfelt in a way that leaves you smiling constantly. The central premise is inventive and slightly meta, and allows Lacy Allen to play a character so delightful it restores your faith in humanity. I laughed, I was moved and, just like Cindy, I didn’t want the story to end.
