This show absolutely blew me away. The entire cast lays it all out on the floor bringing you truly into this incredible storyline. Burt Thunders played by Eric Schinzer is a sight to behold. Its there will be blood, its Crank, its Bill O' Reilly " fuck it we'll do it live." This show was absolute, glorious chaos in the best possible way. Every scene somehow managed to be more unhinged than the last, yet it all felt intentional. The comedy was absurd, fast-paced, and completely unpredictable. I was laughing the entire time!!! Burt Thunders commandeers a studio at his small-town TV station and takes the audience on a wild ride. It’s a laugh riot, even as we begin to see who Burt really is and the guffaws develop an uncomfortable undertone. Eric Schinzer perfectly captures the smarmy charm of a D-list “celebrity” who has dedicated his life to capturing the great white whale of fame and power and is absolutely losing his shit when it begins slipping away. This portrait of narcissism seems particularly relevant in this day and age and is beautifully offset by Taina Estévez’s grounded (literally for much of the show) and hilarious portrayal of the selfless Patricia. Such a funny and intriguing take on fame can take over, and a deep dive on character and madness. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time but also couldn't stop laughing. Love this show and so happy I could come see it! Burt is such a fascinating and well written character and I love that I got to feel like a part of the show as the audience watching it play out. This was insane, in a GOOD way! The lead actor was onstage the whole time and was very entertaining! It is funny with improv, quick wit (kind of reminded me of Monty Python) clown comedy, and slapstick! It’s also surprisingly heartfelt in certain moments that really makes it an electric play!... full review
