The writing, the concept, the performances, the set, the tech… All of it works together to create a concise, funny, and deceptively (considering the title) heartwarming show. It’s an absolute joy to watch.
What I didn't like
Shelby could be a little quiet at times, but I was in the front row (and it’s a small space), so I could hear him. It also leans into the reality of his character, so I’m not even 💯 on if I’d even use this note. Just an observation.
My overall impression
Marie and Shelby’s chemistry was tremendous, and while The Bone Lady very much drives the show, Shelby’s character adds a sort of audience POV character in the mix that works really well and creates some nice comedic conflict which The Bone Lady handles with poise.
