Ann Loud does something really hard to do: she creates with a distinctly unique voice, so that regardless of the content, it feels like she’s the only one who could do it justice. And it’s familiar in a good way — like, I know this is Ann (like when you hear a guitar solo and go oh, yep, that’s Eddie Van Halen).
This show was both bare bones simple and wildly ambitious at the same time. Barely any set, but she transported us to a very specific place, with very clear characters, immediately. It was so much fun.
I’d run to watch anything Ann does.
