This could have easily turned into a one hour trauma dump, but Reina‘s excellent writing and storytelling made it an engaging great time. She doesn’t hold back and we benefit from it. Sure she follows a chronology, but the way she bounces between her love life, her father’s declining health, and her own health issues creates a fluid and entertaining story structure. And while a hysterectomy is a uniquely feminine undertaking, the way she persevered by shifting her outlook and embracing her community was universally inspiring. Well done, Reina!
What I didn't like
I understand cuts were made so I’d be curious to see the extended version😁
My overall impression
What a delight this show was. Reina’s story of a signature point in her life was both hilarious and heartbreaking. It was inspiring to see tragedy turn into celebration.
