I enjoyed the first segment in this anthology with four parts. There were plenty of funny moments, although nothing about the story stuck in my head.
I loved the third segment! Again, not a ton happened story-wise, but I didn’t care. My narrative improv teacher always tells us to forget about plot – focus on the relationships, and that can apply to scripted theatre also. I was riveted the whole time watching the drama between these three siblings with different personalities and their younger half-sister who was their dad’s favorite.
What I didn't like
I couldn’t get into the second segment at all. The lead character of the medium was not entertaining, which basically made the whole thing fall apart.
The final segment seemed to break two rules we get taught in narrative improv – 1) Focus on plot 2) Keep talking about someone not onstage, thereby taking focus away from the people who are there.
That said, I might have watched the whole fourth segment but I really needed to use the bathroom and while I was in there I heard the applause indicating the show was over.
