My jaw dropped probably 5 minutes into this show, and I’d even seen the version Max did at the Dynasty Typewriter months ago. He continuously astounds, but in the loveliest, gentlest, most unassuming way.
What I didn't like
Don’t see this show unless you want to have your brains scrambled, trying to understand how any of what Max does is possible. Don’t see this show if you want a sleazy showman of a magician – Max is incredibly grounded, literally connecting with each person in the room. And don’t see this show if you’re one of those people who punches scare actors at a haunted house, because you may jump in shock at the tricks Max pulls and he should not get punched (even though he said he’s building his tolerance for physical pain on stage).
My overall impression
Fans of magic and mentalism should see Max Davidson: Strangers, but also people who think they don’t like magic and mentalism should see Max Davidson: Strangers. He’s funny, delightful, and SO GOOD AT MAGICWHAT IS GOING ON.
