What I liked
The show makes a great use of space with simple but effective set design, and the inclusion of audio and visual elements. It’s well paced between the three distinct characters. The writing is crafty and the performance is absorbing, hitting various emotional beats that clearly connect with the audience.
What I didn't like
As the show evolves and if feasible, I think incorporating more lighting and effects would be effective. A lamp or a flashlight for the first character who’s searching for something on what feels like a cold, dark, rainy day; a spotlight for the former star, things like that might compliment the ambiance and staging.
My overall impression
This was my second time seeing Two Lies and a Truth, and it gets better and better! The show is personal, emotional, entertaining, and Jalen is an engaging performer.
