What audiences are saying:
“Loved how the writing was repetitive in a way that felt cyclical, lyrical. Like we were in a fable. A sex fable. Great choice by the author … All the performers were so bold. Not only were they prancing around the stage in underwear, but also they were razor sharp in their comedic choices.”
“The best live theater I’ve ever experienced – and I’ve seen The Lion Kong on Broadway.
Truly incredible. Thoroughly engaging start to finish. Unceasingly funny, delightfully bizarre and consummately performed.”
“This is such a breath of fresh air and makes me remember why I love theater. Go see this show! I also love how queer the show is, ugh everything about it makes me so happy GO SEE THIS SHOWWWWWWW”
“The Fisherman’s Wife deftly delivers on a wild and wonderful script! It’s a tight, well-acted, well-produced, well-orchestrated sex farce that draws the audience in— almost like a set of tentacles—and never lets go. This show is funny, heartfelt, and dark as it explores relationships, trauma, longing, and magical surrealism and it’s one of the most entertaining shows I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing!”
“This was hilarious! I went in knowing it would be a bit of a wild ride but otherwise didn’t know what to expect. I did not expect to laugh almost every other line. All the actors were super strong and played the heightened world while still feeling like humans (or uh…sea creatures). Excellent!!!”
“Had a wet n’ wild time! Great interpretation of a fun & funny, albeit absurd script. I laughed, I howled, I left on a high!”
“The cast’s comedic timing is astounding. This seems like a script that lives or dies on finding the right rhythm and pacing, and this production definitely succeeds. I adored the more overt theatrical elements such as the puppet show flashbacks and the appearance of the sea creatures. How else does one do fantasy on stage?”
“What a great show! A little bit sexy, a lot a bit funny, and just overall fun!”
“The acting was phenomenal and the whole crowd was fully engrossed in the experience. I was laughing the whole show! “
“Incredible. I was totally captivated the whole time. I love how the writing & acting was so good, the minimal set & props didn’t hinder the immersion of the experience at all. Seriously so fun & allowed me to entirely escape reality for an hour ish. Couldn’t really predict how it was going to go, which made it that much more fun.”
“This show is a MUST SEE at Fringe this year! Not a single weak spot in this rolliking romp of a show!”
“This was honestly one of the best Fringe shows I’ve ever seen – and one of the best small theater plays I’ve seen as well! The acting was incredible – 10/10. The script is great and the way they interpreted it was so funny and creative. The crowd had a ball and it felt like a really interactive show where the energy fed off each other.”
