What I liked

Christine Castanon is that energetic, magnetic performer who commands the attention of the audience before the lights even come up and has the whole house on the edge of their seats the entire time. The exact type of person and performer you want carrying a solo show. On top of a personality you just want to spend time around (What was “Tim” thinking?!) her singing voice is beautiful and she’s a skilled guitarist! The narrative she’s crafted zips along quickly and wraps up in a satisfying and heartwarming way. I feel like solo shows can often be meandering, but Castanon keeps this show focused with a near perfect arc that almost sneaks up on you.

Highlights include the songs, speed dating, the snack blanket, conversations with Alexa, and the, uh…“Carmina Burana” section. That was one of the funniest, best depictions of…~that~ I’ve ever seen onstage. (Really trying not to get demonetized, here! And also, you should see for yourself!)

What I didn't like

My heart skipped a beat when she dropped her guitar? Those things are expensive.

My overall impression

A lively solo show about the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of dating with original music!
