I applaud such a bold reach for a fringe show when other shows struggle with basics like getting microphones to work. The AR technology was largely successful. The fact that the show was designed to be experienced without the AR component (which was my situation more than once during the performance) reassured me that the team viewed the play as the first priority. I very much enjoyed the non-AR video animation seen during the past and future storylines. It was mysterious, poetic, engaging.
What I didn't like
I struggled with the multiple storylines, and with the AR technology. Those may be related because I could not focus sufficiently on the story when I was trying to find the instructions that had been sent in the advance email about what to do when prompted to “reorient” or “restart placement” or what “ready to place / (4° off)” meant I should do. But an important effort nonetheless.
