What I liked
The life of shelter dogs is an untapped market and I wish we would’ve stayed with them longer. Good jokes, again, cast was solid.
What I didn't like
I don’t think you need the ICE agent in order to move story forward. It actually convoluted a lot of what I think was trying to be achieved. Dramaturgically, I think it could’ve been pared down. It was trying to say too many things, and while I agree with all the things being said, it felt like I was being preached at. I would’ve preferred to make it all about this dog the lands in the shelter and this veteran dog has to show him the ropes…and what they experience in the shelter can be used as a metaphor for all the issues the playwright is wanting to express.
My overall impression
This was a really fun show! The cast was solid and it was about dogs…what else do you want?!
