How…how do I start? Andrew Knox had me cracking up from the start to the end! (Technically before, as we had a nice chat before the box office opened up.) Both uplifting, hilarious, and absolutely taking down charlatans and hypocrites, Knox’s show guarantees full-body laughs while delivering an emotional jolt towards the end of the show. Even if Eleos is kind of full of it, Knox’s script is smart, earnest, and illuminates a serious problem facing all of us. (The quip about what’s written on the sash is just brilliant.) I need every straight man to see this. Easily one of the best shows at Fringe this year. A gem in the tiara of self-help solo shows.
My friends and I took up about two full rows, and seeing them laugh along with me was a real treat. A beautiful balm in a world haunted by manosphere podcasts, pickup artist sites, and whatever the f*ck a “Clavicular” is.
Also…album? When? Those songs were great!
What I didn't like
Someone else got to wear the Softest Boy sash because I am nonbinary and bisexual. (This is a fake complaint, although I do contend I was the softest boy in that theater.)
My overall impression
This show stopped me from being an emotional beta cuck and turned me into an emotionally-available chad of the heart. (Brought to you playas by Celsius Playa Vibes)
